Lust for filthy lucre leads Ford to blow off gay customers

AFA's Wildmon gobbles up the affection; will Ford wake up with regrets?

Gay and lesbian advocacy groups sharply criticized Ford Motor Co. for agreeing to stop advertising in gay-themed publications in the face of a boycott by the conservative American Family Association.

Jerry Reynolds, an influential Ford dealer in Garland, Texas, who joined company executives in the meeting with AFA officials last week, said many dealers were concerned about the boycott. In the end, he said Ford made the changes because of financial concerns.
We know how much the gay bashers love to bring 'round their brand-spanking-new Jags and Land Rovers, and spin off to join the congregation in praying for the (gay) sinners they love (to hate) so much.

Good luck, Ford. You're on the path to certain success. Yep. And don't forget to send a few of your "On Fire for Hypocrites" discount vouchers to Reverends Dobson, Falwell, Robertson, Shelton, et al. They're probably in the market to add another luxury liner to their fleet -- and you'll need to make a lot of sales to your chosen friends. Advertising, ya know.

Now that you've caved to the AFA on this one, get ready for the next series of demands from the antigay crusaders. It's all about free (religious) enterprise, ain't it?

So pass the collection plate again and give thanks you have the AFA to guide you down the 'straight and narrow' superhighway to bigotry.

Update, 14 Dec 2005....

Time will tell.

I found your blog via the next blog button. Usually I just cruise through a few blogs when bored but I had to post a comment here.

I don't personally understand how one can follow the teachings of Christ and hate anyone at the same time. I am straight but I have many gay/lesbian friends. I find anyone who spreads hate in the name of Christ to be nothing more than a Facist in Christian's clothing. Keep fighting the good fight for tolerance.

I subscribe to their newsletter too!

I love reading it, and the reassuring face of Don "the wildman" Wildmon" always brings a smile to my face.

Seeing this blog makes me wonder, how many of their supposed members are just subscribing to keep an eye on the people who are ruining America. Sometimes they make me laugh, other times I can only laugh harder.

hmm.

These are people who read gay magazines, looking for something gay to get mad about.

That's SO different from subscribing to a nutbag newsletter to get a fun headshot photo of "the wildman" every week.

Did you know they'll send you christian spam?

JC, you're a real glutton for.... entertainment, I see. :-)

I've had firsthand exposure to so many "wildmons" that I wanna puke when I see his face on my site. Yet, duty demands that I keep spurting little beams of disinfectant on the little self-righteous scorpion.

BTW, I enjoyed visiting your site, and thanks for visiting mine. You're welcome any time.

Correction: You're welcome here anytime. :-)

I have been sending this stuff to the husband who is a manager at a Ford dealer. Sales are way down lately. I don't know who is boycotting more, the environmentalists, the gay people or the religious right. They are in deep shit. The husband works on commission. I suggested he go and work for Lexus or something.

Sorry about your husband's job. The people making these stupid decisions probably think they're protecting the people who depend on them: damned if they do and damned if they don't. Seems like people would learn it's always better to do the right thing and everything else will ultimately fall into place.

Like the Dems who suppoted (and support) the Iraq invasion. They did what they thought was right politically, rather than what they knew to be right. Now they're paying the price and they have no way out. Yet.

Facist in Christian's clothing??? (by the way...it is spelled Fascist)

Where did Mr. Clarkson hear that these Christian men HATE anyone? It is an assassination of their character!!! I as well don't HATE the fag, I HATE what they do...and as Christians (I HATE to tell you), we are allowed to not agree with filthy queers!
